In response to your recent advertisement for a dental laboratory technician in the Los Angeles Times, I am enclosing my resume for your consideration.

As my resume indicates, I obtained my training and my first years of experience as a dental technician in the U.S. Air Force. Since completing my tour of duty, I have worked for several years at Stuart Dental Laboratories. I am a meticulous and productive worker to whom the lab manager typically gives some of the most challenging work. Although I enjoy my position, I would value the opportunity to work in the kind of state-of-the-art environment associated with the University's dental program.
