Some with the aim of serving the people, or with an interest of dealing with crime and criminals, enter the field of defense, security, etc.; however, there are some who are interested in the other aspects of such services, something that gives them freedom of working independently and deal with different cases, criminals, etc. One such field is the field of 'detectives'. Detectives are people who work for some detective agency, or even independently for that matter, and rake up various cases. The main role of a detective is usually to stop something that is wrong by proving someone guilty of the forthcoming wrong actions. They work either to find out who is involved in a crime, who is about to do something wrong, or who is the mastermind of some activity. They are also known as private detectives. Prior to working as an independent detective, the person has to work with some detective agency, and thus will need a resume and detective resume cover letter, to put forth his/her resume more effectively.

This field is not gender biased or age biased. A person, who is physically fit, has complete knowledge of various crimes, criminals, an inherent power of understanding the facts and evidences, and some knowledge of the various laws, are eligible for this position.
