Career Changer (Fashion Designing) Resume

The resume of a fashion designing professional changing the career should bear a strong objective for a title, a career objective that speaks of the candidate's career related goals and interests, and stating the situation, while holding utmost relevance to the employer's expectations/needs. It should be aimed at describing your reason for the change in career path, and showcasing your capabilities, where the information is organized to maintain uniformity in quality throughout the resume. Starting to write a resume (for fashion designing) always seems to be the constraint; however, once you are through designing your objective, all you need to do is present your skills and capabilities with enhancement. Enhancement, not super-enhancement. Include a profile summary immediately following your contact details and career objective, a section where you are to mention the most significant facts and figures pertaining to your professional background. Here, include about 6-8 points, zooming in on them using bullets. Inform the reader about any projects that you have undertaken so far.

Then, state your key skills along with your accomplishments, if any. Skip the general skill sets, try becoming personal; be specific. Mention your strengths, targeting them at the employer's needs. The section should not become too shiny though, nor should it be gone unnoticed. State your expertise in brief, in points. If you are familiar with any designing applications or software, then do include that information. Now follows the employment history, projecting the details of your previous/current employment(s), including the name of the employer, location, and the duration of employment, with dates. Arrange the information in a reverse chronological order, starting from the most recent job and going down as older details fill the space. Similarly, mention your academic qualification, bearing the details such as the name of the degree/certification, year of completion of the course, the name and location of the institute/university, and the grades obtained (optional if you possess prior work experience). Finally, include the contact details of any two professionals within the field, or within your professional history, who can provide some information about your capabilities, in case the employer wishes to take feedback of the candidate, prior to recruitment. However, include the references only if the employer has specified; else, simply mention "available upon request".
